Sue Locklear Subotnik, 48, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 20, 2022, at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 PM on Monday, October 24th, at Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, 5 – 7 PM, at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
Sue was born August 26, 1974 in Guilford County, NC. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She was known as the peacemaker; the one that stepped in to bring healing when life brought about chaos. Sue enjoyed watching all of her children’s sports activities and aimed to never miss a moment. She was always there for her family and friends, very much a Mama Bear…..she loved fiercely.
Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Robert Subotnik; daughters, Cecelia Subotnik, Hannah Subotnik and Lylan Gravely; son, Jonah Gravely; her mother, Twana Davis Locklear; five brothers, Jimmy Locklear (Sherri), Jack Locklear, John Locklear (Misty), David Locklear (Christina) and Donnie Locklear (Charissa); sister, Angela Long; 12 nieces and nephews, Ashley, Jamie, Heather, Taylor, Joseph, Dakota, Andrew, Michael, Landis, Layton, Lancy and Landall; along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and other adopted family.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Michael Subotnik and her brother, Chess Locklear, Jr.
