Obituary: STEVEN DWAYNE JOYCE

Steven Dwayne Joyce, 59, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Jacob’s Creek Nursing and Rehab.

A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Mayodan with Rev. Torrey Easler and Rev. Randy Jessup officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, June 17, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home.

Dwayne was born in Rockingham County on June 15, 1962, to the late Wesley Howard, Jr. (Jimmy) and Betty Carter Joyce. He was an avid drummer, playing in bands since being in middle school. Dwayne also enjoyed racing RC Cars, drinking diet Mt. Dew, and watching the North Carolina Tar Heels. More than anything, he loved his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Lorrie Dunlap.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 34 years, Debbie Luther Joyce of the home, his son Preston Joyce of the home; his brothers, Keith Joyce (Lori) of Mayodan and Britt Joyce (Shannon) of Kannapolis; his sisters-in-law, Tammy Oakley (Gabe) and Becky Lemons (Scott); nieces, Kayla, Allison, Andrea, and Hannah; nephew, Andrew; great nieces, Hazel and Alaia; and his great nephews, TJ and Maxton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Mayodan, 101 S. 1st Ave, Mayodan, NC 27027.
