Spencer O’Brien “Brien” Smith, 85, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Thompsonville Baptist Church and burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Rites.
A native of Reidsville, he was the son of the late Hubert Eugene Smith and the late Lucille Mills Smith Golden and he had lived in Williamsburg Community most of his life. He was a retired electrician at P. Lorillard Tobacco Co. and he was a US Air Force Veteran. Brien was an avid fisherman, loved helping others, and was a member of Thompsonville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Virginia McKinney Smith of the home, daughters: Cindy S. Patterson (Keith) and Julie F. Smith both of Reidsville, grandchildren: Stephanie DeHart (Mike) and Lauren L. Williams, great grandchildren: Hunter L. Stultz, Ayden M. DeHart, Kailey G. Pruitt, and Kinsley A. Pruitt.
The family will see friends from 1:00 till 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Thompsonville Baptist Church and at other times at 757 Trails End Road Reidsville, NC 27320.
The family would like to thank LeBauer Pulmonology, Moses Cone Hospital, AuthoraCare, and Dr. Roy Fagan for their care during this time. Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Smith family.
