Shirley Russell Cagle, 85, of Reidsville, NC went to be with the Lord Sunday August 21, 2022 at Annie Penn Hospital.
Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday August 25, 2022 in Citty Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Travis McGuirt officiating. The family will see friends following the service at Citty Funeral Home. Shirley and her husband Joel Stanford “Joe” Cagle, Jr. who preceded her in death will be interred in Biscoe City Cemetery in Biscoe, NC.
A native of Thomasville, NC she was a daughter of the late Hal and Maleita Garner Russell and had lived in Reidsville for the past 15 years. She was a retired accountant with J.P. Stevens, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Shirley was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church and attended services regularly. She was known to enjoy a glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay when dining with her friends.
Survivors include a step-son: Joel Stanford Cagle, III of Jacksonville, FL and step-daughter: Theresa C. Adams (Tom) of Round Rock, TX, four step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.
