Shirley Reynolds Turner, 87, went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Lance Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will see friends 10:00 AM until 11:00AM on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at First Baptist Church and at other times, they will be at 1025 Cypress Dr. Reidsville, NC 27320.

A native of Penhook, VA, she was a daughter of the late William Henry and Eunice Shreve Reynolds and she had lived in Reidsville most of her life. Shirley was a former employee of Duke Energy, a member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Outreach Sunday School Class. She was a 1957 graduate of Wentworth High School and was an All-Conference guard on the basketball team. Shirley was a member of the Woodrose Garden Club, a member of the bridge club, an avid tennis player, and she ran a youth tennis tournament for many years. She enjoyed traveling, water skiing and she enjoyed doing cross stitch and she received many awards for her projects. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter: Emma Turner, 2 brothers: Wayne Reynolds and Larry Reynolds and a sister: Jean R. Wilson.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert Turner, sons, Brian Turner (Charlotte) of Reidsville and Lance Turner (Jill) of Los Altos, CA, brothers, William Henry “Billy” Reynolds (Teresa) and Steven “Steve” Reynolds (Karen) both of Reidsville, sisters, Joyce R. Strader (Ray) of Reidsville, Betty R. Cobb of Spartanburg, SC, Terry R. Duncan (Chuck) of Hampstead, NC and LaVern R. Robinson (Glenn) of Jewel, SC, 3 grandchildren, Grace Turner 13, Hattie Turner 11 and Luke Turner 11.
