Sheila Hicks Hawkins, 71, passed away Monday morning, November 6, 2023, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
A funeral service will be held at 7 PM on Friday, November 10th, at Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel in Madison. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (6 – 7 PM) at the funeral home. Burial will be done privately on Saturday.
Sheila was born November 12, 1952 in Stokes County, NC, to the late Joe and Katie Bullins Hicks.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Danny Hawkins; sons, Gary Hawkins (Becky) and Joshua Hawkins; daughters, Tracy Brummitt (Grey), Shannon Carlisle (Ronnie) and Kimberly Wells (Joey); 18 grandchildren, Mandy, Jessica, Angela, Christian, Caleb, Michaela, Jacob, Timothy, Daniel, Kaitlyn, Samuel, Luke, Matthew, Sarah, Carrly, Emily, Sophia and Adrienne and eight great-grandchildren, Brittny, Breanna, Hannah, Logan, Olivia, Oliver, Ruth and Skylar.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Hicks, Donald Hicks and J. D. Hicks; along with two sisters, Margaret Knight and Linda Adkins.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to 89.5 WJHW, Old Paths Christian Radio, 6704 Hwy 8 South, Germanton, NC 27019.
