Ms. Shelby Jean Shawandia “Tina” Logan Hunter departed this life on Saturday morning, November 5, 2022.
As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina, she attended the local public schools and was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. “Tina”, as she was affectionately referred by family and close friends, was a former employee of Hamilton Cleaners, New Laundry and Branchwood Nursing Center. During her leisure, she enjoyed playing cards, socializing and playing the sweepstakes.
Her parents, Lou Evy Turner Logan and Otis Logan; step-son, James Oscar Neal, Jr.; siblings, Sandra Kay Logan, Elton, Andrew, Larry and Lee Otis Logan, preceded her in death. Survivors are: a loving daughter, Wysheka Logan; step-children, Ricky Neal and Pamela Neal; grandchildren, Jhandrel Graves, Jhantel Logan and Archie Matkins; great-grandchildren, Jamaurri Logan, Azion Matkins, Jamir Broadnax, Kamanni Logan, Brennen Graves and Ariana Matkins; sisters, Shirley Hayes and Cynthia Martin; brothers, William Logan, John Logan (Yolanda) and Richard Logan (Nelda); aunt, Elnora Johnson; special cousin, Charlene Broadnax Kelly; devoted friends, Charles Galloway, Margaret Stewart, Annie Doe and Linda Williamson; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2022 from the Cornerstone Christian Center, 516 North Scales Street. The family visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Public viewing will be Saturday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street.
