Shawn Thomas Collins, 48, passed away Tuesday morning, July 12, 2022, at UNC-Chapel Hill Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 5 pm Wednesday evening, July 20th, at Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel.
Shawn was born May 10, 1974 in Guilford County, NC. Prior to his illness he worked in roofing. Shawn loved the beach and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is survived by his mother, Myrtle Case Collins of Eden; four daughters, Christina Colbert of Dothan, AL, Alexandra Collins of Greensboro, Evangela Dillon of Stoneville and Payton Nicole Silvers of Stoneville; two grandchildren, Lincoln Michael Bisaccio of Dothan, AL and Lizzy Mae Dillon of Eden; brother, Barry Collins of Eden; paternal grandmother, Vera Elizabeth Jordan of Lynchburg, VA; aunts, Amanda Case, Malinda Wall, Lynn Case and Diane Schabinger; uncles, Charles Walter Case, James Wall, Tommy Jordan, Timmy Jordan and Bruce Schabinger; along with numerous cousins.
Shawn was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Thomas Collins; brother, Samuel Walter Collins; maternal grandfather, Daniel Walter Case; maternal grandmother, Vera Elizabeth Alford Case; maternal step-grandmother, May Williams Case and paternal grandfather, Leonard Thomas Collins.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or to the American Diabetes Association.
