Scarlett Wanda Williams Case, 83, of Mayodan, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Annie Penn Hospital.
Scarlett was born in Rockingham County on September 5, 1940, to the late Rueben Leonard, Sr. and Fannie Williams Williams. She retired from Rockingham County where she worked as a Librarian for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Mayodan. Scarlett loved her family and Christmas was always her favorite time of year. Her hobbies included music, bird watching, playing cards, gardening, and watching the Lawrence Welk Show.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James William “Bubba” Case, Sr.; her brother, Leonard Williams; and her sisters, Ramona Glidewell, Golda Mae Dalton, and Frances Weaver.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, James William “Jimmy” Case, Jr. (Rhonda) and Billie Jo “Bee” Case (Tina); her brother, Gerry Williams (Norma); and her grandson, James William “Trey” Case, III (Joy).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Wounded Warrior Project, 1990 Fordham Drive, Suite 100, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
