Sara “Sissy” Louise Dozier Collins, 72, died on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Pine Forrest Assisted Living in Reidsville.
Per her request, no formal services will be held.
Sara, also known by many as “Sissy” was born on January 29, 1951 in Florence County, SC to the late Howard Carthel Dozier and Aggie Louise Dunn Dozier. She was a homemaker and a caring mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. Raising her two daughters was her greatest accomplishment in life. She was loved and admired by her family and friends and enjoyed music, especially anything Elvis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Dozier, Jr.
Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Collins (Charles Collins, Jr.) and Lorrie Collins; grandchildren, Stephanie Purdy, Charles Collins, III, Michael Ray Collins and Heaven Lacey Coleman (Axle); five great-grandchildren and brother, James Thomas Dozier.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amedysis Hospice, Burlington.
Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
