Ruth Hubbard Jenkins, 87, of Reidsville went home to be with The Lord, Friday, March 1, 2024, at Annie Penn Hospital.
Ruth was born in Rockingham County to the late Irvin and Ethel Joyce Hubbard. She retired from Lorillard with over 46 years of service. She faithfully attended College Park Baptist Church and has been a committed Christian her whole life. She married the love of her life, Larry Jenkins, in 1969 and after their retirement, they were able to enjoy their love for music together. He was an accomplished steel guitar player for over 50 years and wherever he was playing, she would be there dancing with all of her friends. Ruth will be remembered for her kindness and her gentle spirit. She was an avid reader, a gifted artist and always enjoyed her time at the beach. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Jenkins; daughter Terry Holt; son-in-law Jonnie Holt; son Michael Jenkins; and their special dog, Baby.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Kim Wall and husband Alex; special grandson Cody Wall and fiance’ Maddy Wray; granddaughters Kelly Rawlins and husband Beau, Stacy McClenny and husband Scott, and Stephanie Holt; great grandchildren Alison and Gavin Rawlins; daughter-in-law Donna Jenkins; sister Carol Atkins and husband Wayne; and a large extended family. She was affectionately known by her nieces and nephew as “Aunt Biddy”.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to College Park Baptist Church, 2641 Wentworth Street, Reidsville, NC 27320.
