Roy Vaughn Steele, Jr., 72, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025, unexpectedly at home.
He was a life-long resident of Stokes County, graduate of North Stokes High School, and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Roy retired after 47 years from Collins Aerospace as a Supervisor. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and PawPaw. He had a passion for life, was an avid golpher, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Roy was a kind spirited man who will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by parents, Roy Vaughn Steele, Sr. and Sybil Martin Steele, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Mary Rominger.
Roy is survived by his wife, Donna Rominger Steele; daughter, Claudia Vaughn Steele Ricketts (David); stepson, Brian Royal (Megan Owens); stepdaughter, Mary Beth Lopez (Chris); brother, Mark Steele and “brother” Mike Burton; sister, Marlene Smith (Fred); nephew, Jackson Smith (Kristen), and Riley Horton. Also, left to cherish Roy’s memory are his precious grandchildren, Addisyn Hunsucker, Declan Hunsucker, Hazely Ricketts, Cole Hopkins, Ranferi Lopez, Jacob Lopez, Donavan Sackett, Chloe Owens, and Skylar Owens.
Family and friends are invited to the barn for a Celebration of Life from 4 pm to 7 pm, Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Steele Family Farm, 1215 Steele Road, Sandy Ridge.
