Rosemary Gammon East, 70, of Reidsville, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
“Rose” was born in Rockingham County to the late Irvin and Geneva Perkins Gammon. Rose worked at L&S Fast Stop for many years. She was a sweet lady who always looked out for everyone but herself. She was a great mom who loved her grandkids and great-grandkids dearly. She enjoyed sitting on the front porch and loved when people stopped by to visit. Rose was a simple lady who cared deeply for others. She loved scratch-offs, flowers—especially roses—and watching NASCAR, particularly Dale Earnhardt. However, her favorite driver had to be her son. She loved watching him drag race and was so proud of him. Rose’s kindness and love will always be remembered by those who knew her.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Bob Gammon and Austin Gammon; her sister, Elva Gammon; and special friends Glenda and Joannie. She is survived by her son, William Conklin and wife Kimberly; her grandchildren, Will Conklin (Kelly), Desiree Walker (Tyler), Kristen Lahnum (Tyler), Lee Harris, and Bethany Conklin (Jeremy); and her great-grandchildren, Braydon, Aubrey, Weston, Addison, Brantley, Stetson, Garrett, and Maverick, who is on the way. She is also survived by her brother, Clinton Gammon, and special friends, Larry, Randy, Phil and Bill.
