Ronald “Ronnie” K. Joyce, 78, of the Bethany Community, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children, Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 26 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Glencoe United Methodist Church and there will be a celebration of his life at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Glencoe United Methodist Church. Following the service on Wednesday, the family would like to invite family and friends to come to his home to celebrate his life.

Ronnie was born May 21, 1944, in Rockingham County to the late Oscar and Mary Joyce. He worked in the vending industry with over 40 years of service. He loved being outdoors and spent as much time on his tractor as possible. Ronnie was an avid Duke Blue Devils and New York Yankees fan. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers Ferry O. Joyce, Jr., and Larry W. Joyce; and his parents-in-law Charles and Lillian McDonald.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 51 years Paula McDonald Joyce; children Jennifer ”JJ” Joyce Evans and husband Steve, Jeffery Scott Joyce and wife Christina, and Sheila Joyce Hunt and husband Bobby; grandchildren Kayla McMillan and husband Matt, Alaina Griffin and husband Chris, Austin Hunt, Owen Robertson, Carson Robertson, and Logan Davidson; great granddaughter Emma Kayte McMillan; sisters-in-law Faye Barham Joyce, and Shirley McDonald Johnson and a large extended family.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Rockingham County for their kindness, love, and support throughout this difficult time.
