Roger Doyle Snody, 68 of Axton, Va., passed away at his home on Friday, February 14, 2025 after a long battle with cancer.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Byron Snody, Sr. and Rebecca Ann Odell Snody, his brother, Ernest Byron Snody, Jr., and a special niece to him, Ashley Nicole Lewis.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jane; brother, Tim; sisters, Tammy and Sandra; son, Daniel and grandson, Landon; son, Roger Dale; nephews, Shane and Brandon; nieces, Felicia, Jennifer, Brittany, and Kendra.
Roger was taught growing up to respect others, Love God and (Eph.8:2) To Trust in the Salvation of his Soul by Grace Through Faith, by The Blood of Jesus Christ. I believe I had the honor of witnessing him return to that on June 2, 2024 when God took the desire for alcohol away from Roger. With tears streaming down his cheeks, he told me, “God did it, I couldn’t!” I saw the change in him and he told me that it “was well with his soul” from that day on, until he went home to be with Jesus.
