Roger Dale Phillips went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 8, 2025.

Roger was born in Forsyth County, NC on September 5, 1943 to Alonzo Lee Phillips and Lettie Viola Hicks Phillips. He was a retired contractor whose skilled hands had built many homes and apartments throughout the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina. He also developed a reputation and expertise for historical restoration of log homes. He has worked on many high-profile restoration projects in the historic Bethabara and Old Salem communities in Winston-Salem, NC.

Above all, Roger loved the Lord. He was a long time Christian who found salvation as a young adult. He spent time in prayer and studying his Bible almost daily. He could often be found in his truck somewhere on his farm with his Bible out. His time on earth was generous but he was ready for his heavenly home.

He was preceded in death by his father Alonzo Lee Phillips; his oldest brother Edford Dallas Phillips; his stepfather Charlie Jacob Tise Sr.; his mother Lettie Viola Hicks Tise; his sister Doris Phillips Garnett; his sister Barbara Irene Phillips Brinkley; his brother Charles Jacob Tise Jr.; his brother Thurmond Lee Phillips; his sister Peggy Beckerdite; his brother Billy Gray Phillips; his brother David Ray Phillips; and his grandson Roger Dale Phillips III.

Surviving are his sister, Linda Tise Edwards (Roger); his former wife and mother of his children Virginia June Finley Phillips; his son Dale Phillips (Sneha Reddy); his daughter Lisa Greason (Jeff); his granddaughter Ashleigh Flinchum (Cameron) and their children Luke, Liam, and Lane; his granddaughter Hannah Decker (Nick), and their children Charis and Selah; his granddaughter Kayla Pollard (Darius); and his granddaughter Grace Phillips.

Funeral services are provided by Colonial Funeral Home (Stokes Chapel) in Sandy Ridge, NC. His earthly body is available for viewing on Friday, June 13th during normal business hours for those wishing to pay their respects in person. There will not be a formal visitation service.

A private graveside service will be held in the family cemetery on June 14th in Westfield, NC with burial to follow. Reverend Nick Decker will officiate the ceremony.
