Rodney Tyrone Cobb, the son of Ronnie Cobb and Joanne Powell Cobb, departed this life on Monday, August 8, 2022.
Born on June 20, 1975 in Eden, North Carolina, he attended the local public schools and was a resident of Rockingham County for the majority of his life. Rodney attended Hargrave Military Academy, Chatham, Virginia and was employed by Foster’s Construction Company. He was a former member of Rocky Ridge Missionary Baptist Church and was an avid sportsman with a penchant for basketball and tennis. Rodney was a kindhearted and loving person who was always willing to help when needed for his family and friends. He also enjoyed cooking.
Survivors are: loving children, Raheem Walters, Raquan Cobb, Janiya White and Ramel Cobb; beloved parents, Ronnie Cobb and Joanne Powell Cobb; sister, Neleeta Cobb; brother, Reginald Cobb (Hope); nieces, Teyanna Cobb, Tameya Cobb, Joy Cobb and Faith Cobb; nephews, Devonte’ Mc Cullers and Desmond Mc Cullers; special friends, Michael Mooney, Amy Mills, Michael Foster and Foster Construction Family; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2022 from the chapel of Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street. The family visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
