Obituary: RODGER LEE DALTON

Rodger Lee Dalton, 75, of Stoneville, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025, in the Ray Chapel at Terry Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Ricky Craig officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, May 11, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and all other times at the home of his sister, Sue.

Rodger was born in Rockingham County on November 14, 1949, to the late Frank and Dovie Jane Coleman Dalton. He was an avid fisherman and loved children. Rodger also enjoyed NASCAR, wrestling, and the company of his cat, Jennifer. He loved his family and always told his daughter Melissa that he loved her every day. He will greatly be missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Becky Lynn Dalton; and his sisters, Mary Jane and Frances Dalton.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Melissa Ann Lumpkins and husband Chris of Stoneville and Randy Lee Dalton and wife Susan of Bassett, VA; his brother, Billy Dalton and wife Debra of Eden; his sisters, Sue Presnell and husband Wade of Stoneville, June Smith and husband William of Eden, and Nancy Dalton of Eden; a grandson, Corey Dalton; four step-grandchildren; and his special cousins, Tommy Dalton and Judy Seagraves.
