Robert Norman Bray, 76, of Eden left his earthly home Monday, July 11, 2022 at the home of his daughter in Walnut Cove.
A funeral service will be held 10am, Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Promise Baptist Church, 1455 Worsham Mill Rd, Ruffin, NC 27326. Burial will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens in Eden. A visitation will be held 5-7pm Friday, July 22, 2022, at Fair Funeral Home in Eden, NC. The family will receive friends at other times at the home of his daughter, Linda, 1190 Shagbark Dr, Walnut Cove, NC 27052.
Robert was born June 23, 1946, in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Irvin Fagg Bray and Vergie Lee Strader Bray Lester. He worked for many years as owner and operator of Bray Asphalt Seal Coating. Robert was a charter member of Promise Baptist Church in Ruffin, NC, where he served as Trustee and Head Usher. He enjoyed his work; loved his family, his church, and his fur babies.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Bobby Bray and wife Tama of Kentwood, LA; son, Jonathan Bray (Patricia) of Eden, NC; daughter, Linda Kay Johnson (Chuck) of Walnut Cove, NC; son, Darrin Rodgers of Eden, NC; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Janice Fowler of Providence, NC, David Bray of Eden NC, Jane Mitchell of Wentworth, NC, Randy Bray of Providence, NC, Betsy Neighbors of Providence, NC, Judy Sarham of Danville, VA, Ricky Bray of Ruffin, NC.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Curry Bray; 2 grandchildren, Jacob Bowman and Kristen Bowman.
