

Robert Glendon Rackley, 96, of Stoneville passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Forsyth Medical Center.
Robert was born in Edgecombe County on May 20, 1928. He was a US Army retired veteran with the rank of Sgt First Class, and a retired Chief of Police from Nashville, NC. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Deep Springs Baptist Church where he loved to sing. He played several instruments including the banjo, guitar, and mandolin. He had large cookouts for all his friends and family to attend. He was known for his story telling and always making others laugh. He loved his friends and family dearly.
Robert is survived by his wife, Carol Leake Rackley of the home; his sons, Frankie Stowe of Stoneville, Larry Stowe of Eden and Glendon Rackley, Jr. of Nashville, NC; several brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Gail Rackley.
