Obituary: ROBERT GARY WELCH

Robert Gary Welch, 79, of Mayodan, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Hospice of Rockingham County.

Per Roberts request, there will be no formal service.

Robert was born in Rockingham County on October 11, 1943, to the late Ben and Bessie George Welch. He worked in finance for over 30 years before his retirement. Robert loved sports, especially football, baseball, and racing.

Robert is survived by his brother, Jimmy Welch and wife Deborah of Madison; his nephews, Stephen Welch of Thomasville and Michael Smith of Greensboro; many cousins; his special friend and caregiver, Bruce Martin; and another special friend, Mickey Craddock.
