Robert Edward Hart departed this life on Monday morning, February 13, 2023.
He was a native of Rockingham County, North Carolina and a resident of Greensboro for many years before returning to Reidsville. “Toot”, as he was affectionately referred by family and close friends, was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1950 and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired manager for the Sears Corporation. During his leisure, he enjoyed cooking, nature, spending time with his grandchildren and the sport of baseball.
His parents, Lizzy Hilderbrand Hart and Will Hart; siblings, Reathy Mae Ward, Frank, Nathaniel, Roscoe and William Hart, preceded him in death.
Survivors are: sons, Robert Hart, Kenneth Hart, Ronald Hart (Sandra) and Fredrick Hart; daughters, Carolyn Lewis and Twonn Hart; special niece, Jeneratta Wilson; special grandchildren, Danielle Hart, Michelle Blackwell (Brandon), Desmond Crutchfield, Davin Crutchfield and Aiden Hart; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Lindsey “LC” Hart; special friends, Myrene Parker and John Henry Blackstock; other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2023 from the chapel of Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street with Rev. William Hairston presiding.
