Obituary: RICKY DEAN DOSS

Ricky Dean Doss, 67, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randy Jessup officiating. Interment will follow in the Community Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home and following the interment at the home of his daughter, Misty Southern.

Mr. Doss was born on February 17, 1957 in Rockingham County to Josephine White Doss and the late Junior Akers Doss. For his entire working career, Ricky dedicated his life to serving this community in law enforcement and later retiring from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Lawson Doss.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Joseph Bradley Doss (Rose Ouellette); daughter, Misty Dawn Southern (Jason Lemons); grandchildren, R.J. Southern (Willow Southern), Josh Southern and Alyvia Southern; sisters, Debbie Russell (Eugene) and Melia Doss (Marshall McNeely) and numerous nieces and nephews.
