Richard “Gary” Cardwell, 75, passed away, at home on Friday, October 28, 2022,
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Lawsonville Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Gary will lie in state at the church from 1:30 p.m., until time of the service. The family will receive friends at the home of Loretta and Jimmy Joyce.
Gary was born August 3, 1947, in Stokes County, to the late Rayford and Rachel Brown Cardwell. He was a very friendly person and enjoyed being with people. He enjoyed hunting and fishing when able.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Onette Shelton Carrdwell; brother, R.J. Cardwell; grandparents, Charlie and Dovie Cardwell and John and Lizzie Brown.
Survivors include a brother, Rayvon Cardwell of High Point; sisters, Mary Stephens of High Point; Linda Robertson (Lynn) of Sandy Ridge; Loretta Joyce (Jimmy) of Mayodan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
