Obituary: RICHARD DILLARD MURPHY

Richard Dillard Murphy (Henry) passed away at his residence in Cypress, TX on June 13, 2022 at 80 years of age.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held 11am, Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Woodlawn Cemetery, 751 NC 700 Eden, NC 27288.
Richard was born July 31, 1941. He was a native of Eden, NC where he graduated Morehead High School in 1959. He then enlisted in the Airforce where he served as Staff Sergeant in the Vietnam War. His second tour brought him to Japan, which he loved. He was honorably discharged from the Airforce in July of 1967. After returning from Japan, Richard started his career with ISI as a National Training Manager, he continued his work in the Electronic Microscope Industry until his retirement in 2014. He enjoyed long walks, riding his bike, listening to oldies and watching old western movies.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Tyler Harrison Murphy and Margaret Simpson Murphy.
Richard is survived by his two daughters, Rhonda Lynne Willets of Burlington NC and Suzanne Margaret Murphy of Julian, NC; Nephew, Mark Murphy; Niece, Jennifer Dodson; Grandchildren, Jessica Davis, Cody Willets, Somer Stanfield and Gabrielle Stanfield.
