Richard “Dick” Michael Boyer, 76, passed away Friday afternoon, June 10, 2022, at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, June 14th, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Madison with burial to follow in Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM – 2 PM, prior to the service at the church.
Dick was born January 2, 1946 in Cloquet, Minnesota to the late John W. Boyer and Anne Siercks Boyer. He graduated from Cloquet High School where he excelled in basketball and football. Dick then attended the University of Minnesota at Duluth before beginning his first position in Chicago. He was a businessman his entire career until he became disabled when he developed leukemia in 1999 and had to take early retirement. He was CEO of many companies including Stoneville Furniture Company and Town Square in Texas at the time of his illness. Dick still golfed and fished as much as he was able, along with spending time with his family whenever possible.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Vicki Vaughn Boyer; five children, Angela Wolf (Winn), Michael Boyer (Amy), Julie Barnhardt (Lloyd), Steven Boyer (Jessica) and Teresa Cronin (Michael); step-children, Lori Warren and Brad Gulla; nine grandchildren, Colin, Cody, Austin, Jake, Allie, Carter, Sienna, Keira and Vince; his siblings, John Boyer (Caryl), Bob Boyer (Linnea), Carol Peterson and Cherie Heitke (Les), all of Minnesota
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Boyer.
Flowers will be greatly appreciated because Dick loved them in his yard, however, if a memorial contribution is preferred, they may be made to First Baptist Church of Madison, 110 S.
