Phyllis “Kitty” Handy Martin, 78, passed away at Annie Penn Hospital on June 17, 2024.
Kitty was born on January 20, 1946 to the late Ted and Lillie Handy. She was a 1964 graduate of Sandy Ridge High School. Kitty was an avid reader and loved reading Nancy Drew Books. Anytime there was a family gathering she loved being a part of them. She also loved animals, especially dogs and horses. Kitty enjoyed watching the Kentucky Derby, and dog shows.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth P. Martin; sisters, Barbara Leach, Norma Jean Moretz, Linda Fergerson; brothers, Paul Handy, Joe Handy, Johnny Handy.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth Martin; sisters, Beulah Joyce (Mike), Betty Mabe, Brenda Knight, Carolyn George (Mark); brother, Donnie Handy; caregiver, Karen Stowe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
