Obituary: PHILIP “PHIL” PANTANO

< br/>

Philip “Phil” Pantano – dedicated husband, father of two, “Pop-Pop” of four, and friend of many – passed away on October 22, 2022 at the age of 70 in Stokesdale, NC after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born on February 28, 1952 to the late Salvatore and Domenica (Fruciano) Pantano in Brooklyn, New York.

Phil married the love of his life, Domenica DeLiso on April 22, 1978 and had two children, Nicole and Philip. After 35 dedicated years of service at Con Edison as an Electrical Engineer, Phil retired to take on a new role as “Pop-pop” to be near his girls.

He loved watching the NY Yankees and NY Rangers. He also loved sports cars, particularly Ford Mustangs, the Ford GT and he always held a special place in his heart for his beloved Mercury Capri. Phil was an avid history buff and could tell you stories or give you facts about practically anything that had happened in the history of this country. He was always there to give advice, even if it wasn’t wanted, but somehow he always was able to speak in a way that made you think twice about your decision at hand. He was always “Mr. Fix-it” seemingly knowing how to fix most anything. Phil was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Phil is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Domenica (DeLiso) Pantano; his two children, Nicole (Donald) Rowley, and Philip Pantano and his adoring grandchildren, who referred to him as “Pop-Pop”, Emma and Isabella Rowley, and Vincent and Genevieve Pantano. He is also survived by his brother Robert Pantano, brother-in-law Peter DeLiso; nephew Joseph (Colleen) DeLiso, niece Annmarie (Michael) Schulein; and dear family friends Michael and Anna Gleason.

The family will host a memorial service on November 5, 2022 for friends and family at his daughter’s house (8005 Helison Ct, Stokesdale) from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial donation be made to the American Cancer Society.

Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
