Obituary: PERCY EDWIN BARBER

Percy Edwin Barber, 86 of Reidsville, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2pm Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Military Honors will be given by Rockingham County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 4-6pm Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Fair Funeral Home in Eden.

Percy was born October 14, 1938 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Thomas M. Barber and Bessie Davis Barber. Percy served his country in the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class, serving from 1956-1960. He later worked as a supervisor at American Tobacco. He retired from American Tobacco after more than 22 years of service.

Surviving are his son, Scott Wayne Barber of Reidsville; grandchild, Conner Lee Callaghan of Graham; fiancé, Rachel Wall of the home; sister, Olivia “Lib” Ashworth and husband, Wayne, of Danville; brother, Troy Barber and wife, Nata, of Garner; numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023, or the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
