Peggy George Gray, 75, left this earthly life, Thursday, April 6, 2023, at home.

Peggy was born January 24, 1948, in Stokes County, to the late Charles George and Rendy Louise Riggs George. She retired from Vanity Fair (Bassett-Walker). Peggy was employed throughout the years for several companies – Washington Mills, Inc., District Manager for Dollar General, Goodwill Industries, and various convenient stores. She liked feeding the hummingbirds and planting flowers. Peggy enjoyed the beach trips and going to the mountains. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will truly be missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie George.

Survivors include husband of 52 years, Robert Larry Gray; son and daughter-in-law, Rusty and Shannon Sandifer Gray; the joy of her life, grandson, Grayson Gray; stepdaughter, Laura Gray Suverkrubbe; sisters, Lucille G. Bullins (Bob) and Nancy George.

A private memorial service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cherokee Scout Reservation, c/o Old North State Council, 1405 Westover Terrace, Greensboro, NC 27408 or the Madison Rockingham Rescue Squad, 204 E. Murphy Street, Madison, NC 27025.
