Pauline “Polly” Louise Mabe Case, 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday morning, December 16, 2022.
An 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022, at The Refuge with Rev. Donovan Furstenberg and Rev. Chris Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
She was born on February 27, 1928, in Stokes County to the late Gilmer and Betty Moorefield Mabe. Polly was a member of The Refuge Church (formally the Mayodan Pentecostal Holiness Church) in Mayodan, NC and was retired from Tultex (formally Washington Mills Co.) where she worked from the age of 19. She was sweet and fun loving, and how she loved her children and grandchildren. There was nothing she loved more than being outside swinging in her swing or working in the yard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Earl Case; an infant daughter, Sherry Lynn Case; her brothers and sisters in law, Dennis and Ruby Mabe and Odell and Amerjean Mabe; her sisters and brothers in law, Maggie Mabe, Thelma and Troy Webb, Elsie and Harvey Manuel, Eldean and Charlie Cardwell, Betty Lou “Bootsie” and Tommy Ferguson, Shirley and Faxon Mounce.
Surviving are her children, Donnie Case and wife Tammy Case of Mayodan and Donna Furstenberg and husband Tom Furstenberg of Reidsville; her grandchildren, Joshua (Tanya) and Jacob Case, Donovan (Kelly), Benjamin (Sydney), Michael (Ellen) and Joseph Furstenberg; her great grandchildren, Brennen (Alessa), Kameron, Lauren and William Furstenberg; her great-great grandchildren, Athena and Bellamy Furstenberg; and numerous nieces and nephews which she loved dearly.
