Obituary: PAULINE LANKFORD NELSON

Pauline Lankford Nelson, 87, entered eternal rest Friday, August 16, 2024, at Martinsville Memorial Hospital (Sovah Health).
Mrs. Nelson was born on May 15, 1937, in Patrick County, Virginia, to the late Andrew Frank Lankford and Ida Hill Lankford. She was a past employee of Pannill Knitting Company. When health permitted, Pauline’s pastime was sewing, knitting, and working with her flowers. Pauline treasured time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson, Paul Douglas Nelson; brothers, Henry Lankford, Coy Lankford, Charlie and Bill Lankford; sisters, Stella Lankford (infant), Dorothy L. Handy, Ollie Johnson, Exie Goard, Mary Ellen Pack, and Margaret Massey, and father of her sons, John Willard Nelson.
Survivors include sons, John W. Nelson, Jr. (Angela) and Barry L. Nelson (Kimberly); grandchildren, Kelly Dawn Danley (Matt), Amber Lee Smith (Bryson), Christopher Nelson (Christine), Jackie Nelson, Cody Nelson (Vanessa); great-grandchildren, John Paul Nelson, Robert Nelson, J.C. Nelson, Eli Danley, Levi Smith, Noah Danley, Wayne Danley, Scarlate Danley, Parker Smith, John Lee Danley, and Samuel Smith; and special nephew, Alexander Toufas.
Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel is serving the family.
