Pauletta “Granny” Spence Martin, 73, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister left this earthly life Friday, August 26, 2022 at Walnut Cove Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Welch, West Virginia. Pauletta was a member of Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a past employee of R. J. Reynolds Hospital and Spencer’s, of Stuart, VA. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The grandkids can still taste her fried “taters”. Another favorite pastime was mowing.
Pauletta was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Elbert Spence and Pauline Shelton Spence; father and mother-in-law, Moyer and Phoebe Martin; brother-in-law, Wayne Perdue, and a niece, Laurie Justice.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Nello Martin; two sons, Nello (Teresa) Martin, Jr. “Marty”, Mickey (Amanda) Martin; two brothers, Walter (Becky) Spence, Jr. and Jackie (Lynda) Spence; a sister, Stella Perdue, and six grandchildren, Dustin (Kelli) Martin, Cody Martin, Richard Martin, Kaitlin Martin, Trey Martin, and Kendra Martin and two great-grandchildren, Owen and Tucker Martin.
There will be no formal service at this time.
