Paul “Ronnie” Overby, 72, passed away December 3rd at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 1:00PM in the New Smyrna Presbyterian Church in Reidsville, NC. A visitation will be held at Fair Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 6th from 4-6pm.
Ronnie was an Elder at the Smyrna Presbyterian Church. Ronnie loved being a member of the NC 26th Civil War Reenactors. He was a fireman for a total of thirty-two years, twelve of those years he was the Fire Chief for the City of Eden. He was president of Draper Wise Men’s Club and a member of the Eden Lions Club. He loved being a DJ and was known as the “Fireman”.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Mea Alderman Overby; daughter, Paula Overby; sisters, Anita Newberry (Roy), Pam Elrod (Terry) and Phyllis McElrath (Danny); brother, Booker Overby (Jean); grandchildren, Taylor Harvell (Nick), Mikaela Cabral (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Brantley, Kinsley, Katara; his four-legged children, Scarlett, Maggie, Rebel, CoCo, Bella, Sam, Daisy, Sophia, Lillie and Journey.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his daughter Melissa Dawn Overby and his parents.
