Obituary: PAUL KENAN GRIFFIN

Paul Kenan Griffin, 90, of Mayodan, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Ancora Compassionate Care (Hospice).

Per his wishes, there will be no formal service.

Kenan was born in Rockingham County on May 2, 1933, to the late Oscar Lee and Thelma Hennis Griffin. He laid carpet for most of his life and owned Griffins Music and Carpet for many years. He was a US Airforce Veteran and was a former member of the American Legion. Kenan had a great sense of humor and always loved to joke. He was of the Baptist faith and loved to golf and enjoyed music, especially singing.

In addition to his parents, Kenan was preceded in death by his brothers, Lee Griffin, Jr. and Frankie Griffin; and one sister, Loretta Griffin Shelton.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia Joyce Griffin of the home; his son, Kenny Griffin of Georgia; his stepson, Jimmy Joyce of Mt. Olive; a grandson, Ken Griffin; step-grandson, Jimmy Joyce, Jr. (Kimmi); his nieces, Robin Lanning (Larry), Jerri S. Deacon, and Joni Howell (Mark); and a nephew, Tim Shelton (Beth).
