

Paul Allen London, 87, died on March 1, 2025, in Huntersville, North Carolina, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on February 24, 1938, in Reidsville, N.C., to the late Paul Beattie and Alma Childress London.
Paul is survived by his wife of 9 years, Arlene S. London of the home; his son, Randall K. London and his wife, Tammi; his grandchildren, Ryan London and his wife, Paula, and Jennifer L. Simpson and her husband, Chad; and his great-grandchildren, Bella and Ellie London, Lawson and London Simpson, all of Monroe. He is also survived by Arlene’s children, Debra (Debbie) Fretwell and her children, and Mark and Robin Fretwell and their families.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Elsie Moore London of Reidsville, and his brother, Fred B. London of Greensboro.
A proud graduate of Tri City High School in Eden, Paul chose a life of service, beginning his career in law enforcement. He started as a police officer in Reidsville and Greensboro before joining the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. He attended the 34th Basic Patrol School in Chapel Hill and was stationed in Stanly County. He later served as Sergeant in Johnston County and as First Sergeant in McDowell and Carteret Counties. Paul retired in 1989 after a distinguished career with the Highway Patrol.
After his retirement, Paul continued his passion for serving others by working as a bus driver for Holiday Tours. Over the years, he traveled to all 48 contiguous states, sharing his adventures with fellow travelers until 2002.
Paul was a devoted Christian who loved serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His faith was evident through his music. He served as a Choir Director at First Baptist Church in Oakboro and later shared his musical talents as a member of two Southern Gospel Quartets, The Melody Masters and The Singing Prophets. He also served his church in many capacities, including as an ordained Deacon. Paul took any opportunity to witness to others.
Paul loved his family and friends dearly and he will be missed beyond measure.
