Patty Farmer Knight, beloved mother and friend to many, passed away on August 9th, 2024 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. Born on January 11th, 1941 in West Virginia, Patty lived a life filled with love for her family and friends.

A graveside funeral service will be held at Evergreen Memory Gardens on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Richard Booker officiating. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

Patty was known for her unwavering strength and dedication to those she held dear. She worked tirelessly as a material handler and forklift driver for over forty years, providing for her family with determination and resilience. Family meant everything to Patty. She cherished every moment spent creating memories that will be forever treasured. Her love knew no bounds as she poured herself into these relationships throughout the years.

In addition to being a devoted mother, Patty found solace in the company of loyal friends who became an extension of her family. Her warm heart welcomed all who crossed her path with open arms. Patty’s passions extended beyond the realm of work and family; she was an avid fan of Elvis Presley and Dale Earnhardt. She loved thrift stores and yard sales – places where she could find hidden treasures that brought joy into her life. And she was a huge baseball fan, cheering on many local minor league teams. She loved to read, watch old westerns and games shows as well.

A dog lover at heart, Patty found companionship in furry friends who offered unconditional love during both joyful moments and times of sorrow. Her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled but it is certain that the memories created together will continue to bring warmth into our lives.

Patty Knight’s legacy will live on through those whose lives were touched by hers – may we carry forward the lessons learned from such a remarkable woman: strength in adversity; compassion towards others; appreciation for simple joys; loyalty to loved ones; passion for what brings happiness; resilience against hardship; kindness without boundaries.

She was married to Percy Knight for 54 years and he was waiting for her when she was called home to Heaven. Her daughter Nancy, son-in-law Pat, son Eddie, his wife Murtiyah (Tiyas), grandson Ahmad Yatim Muzaky Widodo (Zaky), granddaughter Marina Widya Kumala and her husband Lagang Suganda, great grandchildren Rashdan Khalif Wachidurrahman and Qyandra Isyaura Nissa, will all miss the light she brought into their lives. Her sister Rita, brothers Kenneth and Mike, cousin Donna, her puppies especially Daisy and Fancy, her many nieces and nephews, and her countless friends will also miss her very much.

She was also greeted in heaven by her mother and father, Pauline and Wyatt, and her brother Dennis and his wife Alice, and her sister in law Kathy.
