Obituary: PATSY MCCOLLUM UNDERWOOD

Patsy McCollum Underwood, 90; beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on May 20th at Carilion Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, May 28th Overlook Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation at Fair Funeral Home Saturday, May 28th, from 9 – 11 am.
Patsy was born March 3, 1932 to the late John McCollum and Betty Mae Patterson McCollum in Spray, NC. She was an avid basketball player in high school but played softball for more than three decades. Patsy loved gardening and lawn work. She also served friends and the community for over fifty years in banking from the Leaksville Bank and Trust Company and the Bank of America.
Left to cherish her memories are her two sons; Donnie Underwood (Audra) of Roanoke, VA and Mark Underwood (Kim) of Eden, NC; grandchildren; Staci Underwood, Dwight Underwood (Emalea) and Hannah Underwood; great-grandchild, Mila Garrison; sister in-law’s, Janet Grogan and family of Concord, NC and Ina Parr of Candler, NC. Patsy is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and so many friends to name them all here.
In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her husband L.D. Underwood, Sr.; six sisters and four brothers.
