Patrick Jewel “PJ” Stanley, 43, went to Heaven on Sunday, June 12, 2022. Patrick was born to Charlotte Easter Stanley and the late Jewel Stanley on June 11, 1979 and was raised in Greensboro, NC.
PJ was a faithful employee of the City of Greensboro for 20 years. In 2021, he retired from the City and began his dream career of being an over the road truck driver. PJ was an employee of EPES Transport and was recognized as a top driver for 2021. He was happiest driving his truck across the country. His trucker motto was “if the wheels weren’t turning, he wasn’t earning.” PJ visited many states and enjoyed most of them, but none as much as the great state of Texas. He had a great fondness and love for Texas and hoped one day to move his family there. It would be in Texas where he would spend his last birthday, just one day before he left us here to go to his final home.
PJ is survived by his loving wife, Tracy Paschal Stanley; his son Nicholas Patrick Stanley (Tamiaya); his daughter, Taylor Nicole Stanley; his son Austin Kendrick; his mother, Charlotte Easter Stanley; his sister, Jolene Stanley; 4 nieces/nephews, several great nieces/nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition, he is survived by his mother-in-law, Sylvia Paschal; his father-in-law Seth Paschal (Carolyn); sister-in-law Ashley McCollum; and special aunt Kathy Spivey. PJ never met a stranger and is also survived by more friends than could possibly be listed. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, and especially by his dogs Lola, Caleb, and Georgia, but probably not by Taylor’s guinea pig who liked to bite him.
PJ was a simple man who loved his Mountain Dew, his Tik Tok dances, and his t-shirts with quippy sayings. He had a lucky streak a mile long and was known to quite often wipe out the register of the local convenience store collecting his lottery winnings. PJ would want everyone to come as they are; therefore jeans, shorts, t-shirts, hats, and boots are welcome.
The family would like to give special thanks to EPES Transport for all their care and support during our loss and their help in getting our trucker home. They also extend thanks to all the healthcare providers in Texas who worked so hard to keep him here with us.
A celebration of life service will be 3:00pm Saturday at George Brothers Funeral Service with visitation beginning at 2:00pm.
