Patricia Ann Harris Poteat, age 68, formerly of Reidsville passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 at Eden Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.

The family will receive friends at 1408 Colonial Avenue, Reidsville, NC.

Public viewing will begin on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 12 until 6 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the McLaurin-Harris Memorial Chapel, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC. The family visitation will take place at 10:30 a.m. Overseer Florine Nicholson Ortega, eulogist.

The committal and interment will follow in Greenveiw Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.

Patricia was born in Rockingham County, NC on January 30, 1957 to the late Percy Harris and the late Audrey Johnson Hairston.

She was married to the late George Moses “Big Chief” Poteat and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, James Earl Harris and Frankie “Chuckie” Harris; mother-in-law, Helen Totten Poteat; brother-in-law, Anthony Poteat.

Survivors include daughters, Shirley Harris and Molonda S. Poteat of Reidsville, NC; twin sons, Ronald and Donald Poteat of Reidsville, NC; brothers, Herbert Otis Harris of Madison, NC, Darryl “DeDe” Harris (Gwendy) and Ellis Lewis Harris (Kay) of Reidsville, NC and Moses Troy Harris of California; sisters, Mary Ann Harris and Cynthia DeJournette of Reidsville, NC, Diana DeJournette Herbin of Pelham, NC; sisters-in-law, Beaulah Walker, Effie Poteat and Dora Poteat; brothers-in-law, David Poteat (Jane), Ronald Poteat (Mary), Leon Poteat, William Poteat and Michael Poteat (Patricia); grandchildren, Corinthia L. Poteat, Genesis Wah; DaQuan Galloway, Jacob Kaylor, Samiyia Kaylor and Shayla Harris; great-grandchild, Qunihya Scales; a host of relatives and friends.
