Norma Brumbeloe Brooks, 88, of Eden passed away Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, 2024 at UNC Rockingham Rehabilitation and Nursing.

A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held on June 8th, 2024 from 6-8pm at Morehead-Fair House in Eden. Please come share your memories of Norma with the family.

Norma was born August 31, 1935, in Spray, NC, to the late Julius Brumbeloe and Lula Mae Perkins Brumbeloe. She was a member of Spray United Methodist Church. Norma worked as an office clerk for Fieldcrest Mills until her retirement. She enjoyed being outdoors in her vegetable garden, crocheting and reading. Norma traveled frequently to Seattle to visit Mike, Cindy and Scott. She also traveled to Japan to visit with Pat and his family.

Surviving are her daughters, Becky Shomali (Raouf), Cindy Pennington (Dave); sons, Mike Richard, Pat Richard (Yuko), Scott Brooks (Karen); eight grandchildren, Colby Pennington, Anna Pennington, Jordan Pennington, Elizabeth Pennington, Caitlin Pennington, Ken Richard, Brittany Walters, and Ava Foster; bonus grandchildren Nicolas (Emily) Haworth, Jordan (Kristin) Haworth, and Katelynn Haworth: special nephew Curtis (Sheila) Foster and special friend, Joyce Priddy Minniear (Darryll).

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Brooks.
