Ms. Nina Britt Blackwell departed this life on Saturday afternoon, June 25, 2022. 

As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina, she attended the local public schools and was a graduate of Reidsville Senior High School, Class of 1976.  She pursued further education at Rockingham Community College, receiving a degree in Business Administration.  Nina was a faithful member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church where she served on the Usher Board and was a retiree of Avante Nursing Center.  Loved by all who knew her, she was always willing to help others and never met a stranger.  During her leisure, she enjoyed writing poetry and journal notations.

Her father, James Britt, Sr.; husband, Bruce Blackwell; son, Kenneth Britt; brother, William Britt and Donald Lee Britt; sister, Betty J. Britt; grandmothers, Pearl Finley and Nina Mc Warner Britt; grandfather, Robert Britt, preceded her in death. 

Survivors are: daughters, LaToye A. Britt and Aerea L. Britt; son, Michael D. Britt; special nephew, like a son, William Britt; step-children, Charmaine Blackwell (Travis), Bruce Blackwell, Jr., Aaron Mitchell and Shawntae Blackwell; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; beloved mother, Rosanna Broadnax Britt; sister, Annie Britt Allen (Donald); brothers, James M. Britt, Jr. and Sgt. George E. Britt; special sister-in-law and caregiver, Mary Mitchell Keesee; special friends, Beth Ann Farrish, Dora Walker, Gary Morton, April Bryant, Alice Clark, LaQuita Moyer, Montrese Hendricks, Wanda Doe, Brenda Jackson, Cordelia Gorrell, Mc Arthur Lawson, Rose Webb and Glenn Neal (Donna); other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2022 from the Cornerstone Christian Center, 516 North Scales Street.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the church. 

In every effort to protect our client families, protective facial coverings and social distancing are mandatory requirements. 

Public viewing will be Saturday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street.
