Obituary: NELLO TUCKER MARTIN, SR

Nello Tucker Martin, 84, born August 11, 1939, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at home surrounded by his family.

Nello was born in Stokes County to the late Moyer Martin and Phoebe Tucker Martin. He was a US Army Veteran, a member of Peters Creek Baptist Church, and attended Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church. He worked for Old Dominion Freight Line for over 20 years, retiring in 2014, and was employed with Pilot Freight Services with 15 years of service. Nello loved spending time with the family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. His favorite pastime was tinkering with cars and cutting fire wood. He loved being outside.

In addition to his parents, Nello was preceded in death by his wife, Pauletta Spence Martin.

Survivors include two sons, Nello (Teresa) Martin, Jr. “Marty”, Mickey (Amanda) Martin; two brothers, L.D. Martin and Gary Martin, all of Lawsonville; and six grandchildren, Dustin (Kelli) Martin, Cody Martin, Richard Martin, Kaitlin Martin, Trey Martin, and Kendra Martin (Daniel) and two great-grandchildren, Owen and Tucker Martin.

A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
