Nancy Stewart graced heaven’s gate on August 12, 2022 surrounded by the love of family.
Nancy was born on April 22, 1948 to David Stewart Jr. and Lucille Stewart. She grew up in Madison, graduating from Madison -Mayodan High School and then going on to start her adventures in life by graduating Guilford College in Greensboro. Nancy then worked and lived in Greensboro for many years before traveling the country and the world, eventually landing back home in NC with family. Nancy loved an adventure, good food, holidays, time with family, and especially researching ancestry. Nancy was a fiercely independent woman and those close to her knew she did things her way but her heart was just as fierce for those she loved.
Nancy was welcomed into heaven by her father, David Roy Stewart Jr.; grandparents, David Roy Stewart Sr. & Ruth Stewart; niece, Ruth Stewart, and sister-in-law, Susan Stewart.
She is, however, greatly missed and loved by her brother (David Stewart III); niece, Adria Stewart with Mike Wilkerson; nephew, David Stewart, IV and great nephews, Ayden and Trentyn Murphy. Nancy also leaves behind her mother, Lucille Pickett, as well as sisters, Linda Wood & Susan Pickett Crane.
Per Nancy’s request there will be no formal service. The family and close friends will have a private dinner planned by her niece to celebrate her life.
In lieu of traditional flowers and food for the family she wished for donations to be made to support the work of the Madison- Mayodan Rescue Squad.
