Obituary: NANCY HAND YATES

Nancy Hand Yates, 79, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Ancora Compassionate Care.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, October 14, 2024 at Bethel Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends all other times at Wendy’s home.

Nancy was born on February 14, 1945 to the late Gurney and Francis Browning Hand. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Nancy had a passion for jigsaw puzzles and enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds. She also loved spending time tending to her flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Yates.

She is survived by her children, Tammy Weston (Craig), Wendy Yates, Danny Yates; grandchildren, Kevin Vaughn (Samantha), Timmy Weston, Cody Joyner (Heather), Brooke Comer (Bryan), Jordan Yates (Jessica); great-grandchildern, Joseph Vaughn, Preston Vaughn, Jaxson Joyner, Molly Joyner, Rhett Comer, Weston Yates, Kaylee Yates, Harley Yates; and sister Betty Lou Hand.
