Obituary: MOTHER IDELLA MOYER KELLAM

Mother Idella Moyer Kellam, age 97, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Annie Penn Hospital.

Public viewing will begin on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 12 until 7 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. from the St. Thomas Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 633 NC-150, Greensboro, NC. The family visitation will take place at 12 p.m. Bishop L. Bernard Florence, eulogist.

The committal and interment will follow in the Moyer Family Cemetery, Stoneville, NC.

All other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, 215 Carter Street, Reidsville, NC.

Mother Kellam was born in Rockingham County, NC on February 12, 1928 to Bishop Lawrence W. Moyer, Sr., and Annie Mae Broadnax Moyer and was married to Sylvester Kellam.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence J. Kellam; sisters, Lucille Moyer Grier, Pauline Messer, Anna Lee Price, Delphine Moore, Maxine Rouse and Willie Mae Lawson; brothers, John Douglas Moyer and Lawrence Moyer, Jr.

Survivors include children, David Lee Kellam and Mary Ann O’Neil; grandchildren, Joseph Anthony Kellam, Ayana Saron O’Neil, Brad Kellam, Jeffrey Kellam, Davida Kellam, Monique Kellam, Brandon Johnson and Idella Tene’ Kellam; a host of great-grandchildrien, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
