Obituary: MISS EMPRESS JOHANNA-MADINE FOUNTAIN

Miss Empress Johanna-Madine Fontain departed this life on Thursday, April 6, 2023, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Woodbridge, Virginia.

“Little Empress”, as her brother called her, was born to the parents of Divine and Dorothy Fontain on September 6, 2017. She was known to all her friends and family as a fun loving, outgoing, energetic girl. her favorite activities were dancing, modeling and swimming. Empress was a student at Centreville Dance Academy in Woodbridge, Virginia. Empress was intelligent, funny and kind to anyone she came into contact with. She was a wonderful friend to her brothers. She called them frequently just to say she loved them. She called them “My Boy” as if she was in charge.

Empress is survived by her loving father, Divine; loving sisters, Kiley Clapp and Ava Clapp; loving brothers, Yovontae Scales, Javan Horton-Fontain, Emajen and Pharaoh; grandmother, Vander F. Carter (Aubrey Withers); grandfather, Donald Lee (Drucilla Siddle); grandfather, Julius Carter Empress. Empress is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Fontain; grandmother, Dorothy Ann Stevenson and her great-grandmother, Barbara Madine Palmer. She has also left to cherish her memories a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. We will miss her more than words can say.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023 from the Chapel Hill Progressive Primitive Baptist Church, 3360 Guerrant Springs Road, Ruffin with Bishop David Callands presiding.
