

Millard Milton Gunter, 83, entered eternal rest Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at LifeBrite Community Hospital after several months of declining health.
He was born in Patrick County, VA, to the late James Richard Gunter and Lelia Collins Gunter, was a 1958 graduate of Stuart High School, and was a US Air Force veteran who proudly served his country. Milton retired from E. I. DuPont as an electrician.
He was an Elder in the Primitive Baptist Church for 45 years. Milton became a Christian at a young age and purposed to put the Lord first in his life. He had strong work ethics. Milton was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family and was a good provider.
In addition to his parents, Milton was preceded in death by sister, Anna Nichols (Fred), brother-in-law, Frank Custer, brothers, Stafford Gunter, Gary Gunter, and Winfred Gunter (Eleanor).
Survivors include his wife, Betty Bowman Gunter; sons, Richard and wife Janet, Ricky and wife Robin, Merle and wife Nissa; granddaughter, Rebecca Gunter; four stepgrandchildren, and five stepgreat-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Custer, Eloise Wade (Talmadge); sisters-in-law, Lucy Mabe, Doris Mabe, Emily Gunter, Thelma Gunter, and Linda Smith (Randall).
