Charles Michael Haley, 73, known as “Mike”, left this earthly life, Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Moses Cone Hospital after a brief illness.

Mike was born August 12, 1951, in Rockingham County, to the late Harry Haley and Marie Biggs Haley Pearson. He attended Madison- Mayodan High School. Mike retired from Hanging Rock State Park where he was employed in the Maintenance Department. He was a good provider for his family. Mike loved the outdoors. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed all types of sports, especially football, basketball, and fishing. He delighted in fixing things, working on lawnmowers, and lending a helping hand when needed. Mike never met a stranger

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Hennis.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Bonnie Gunter Haley; sons, Anthony Haley (Debi), of Mayodan, Jason Haley (Teresa), of Eden, and Clinton Haley, of Sandy Ridge; stepson, Lamar Lawson (Tina), of Madison; brothers, Steve Haley (Carolyn), of Madison, Lee Haley (Sara), of Mayodan, and like a brother, Jay Biggs (Cathy), of Stoneville; six grandchildren, Vincent, Marie, Brandon, Jesse, L.J., Clinton “Bubba”; one great-grandchild, Brysen; nephews, Chris, Brian, Kevin; nieces, Briggie Stovall and Melissa Hill.

The family will receive friends at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel from 5 pm to 6:45 pm Wednesday, September 18, 2024, followed by funeral services at 7 p.m. with Reverend Boyd Joyce officiating.
