Melisa Mae Hutchens Sizemore, 48, died on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Moses Cone Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverned Tony Ashburn officiating. Interment will follow in the Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sizemore was born on August 6, 1974 in Rockingham County to the late John Eddie Hutchens, Jr. and Ruth Elizabeth Corum Hutchens. She enjoyed making flower arrangements, dancing, fishing and traveling. Melisa was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will always be remembered for putting others first.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Hutchens and sister, Vickie Hutchens.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel Sizemore; children, Kevin Lawson (Kazia), Brittney Rager (Alex) and Christian Lawson; grandchildren, Titus Rager, Trinity Lawson, Connor Lawson and Dakotah Moore; brothers, John Hutchens III, and Thomas Hutchens and several extended family members and friends.
Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
